One Word Resolution: My 2020 Word of the Year

2020 word of the year

For the very first post of 2020, I want to share my one word resolution. Last year, I thought about and created my very first word of the year. I loved the idea of focusing on one goal, or idea for the year and being able to determine if I achieved that goal by year’s end. My word for 2019 was elevate. At the time, I had just begun this little blog that I loved so much and I wanted it to elevate me in multiple ways including spiritually, financially, and even socially. While some of this did happen….another thing happened.

Putting it all Out There

I allowed what I always to get in my way, which is a lack of discipline. Of course I have some posts and made progress towards building my blog but in the year that this blog has been live…I surely should have and could have done more. See the thing about me is, I recognize and wave my flaws around like the white flag to end wars. I know in which areas I am weak. It’s hard to admit, and even harder to type right now, but the truth of the matter is I lack discipline.

My intentions are always great when I am starting something new. Especially something I am excited about. I love my blog and want to see it grow. If you read the story of how my blog began you’ll see that I make all of these plans to make that happen and guess what gets in my way….lack of discipline. It’s an issue I’ve had for as long as I can remember. All the plans in the world sounds really good until it’s time to do the work. I’m ready to manifest all of my desires, and continue to elevate but there’s only one thing that will help me get there and that’s discipline.

My 2020 Word of the Year

Have you figured out my 2020 word of the year yet? I’ve only said it a few times in this post. That’s right…say it with me y’all….dis {clap} cip {clap} line.

Ambition ain’t ish without discipline. Goals ain’t ish without discipline. In the past, I’ve had periods of time where I was very disciplined, especially in the realm of fitness. I’ve shown myself I am capable. Discipline is the difference between dreams and reality. For 2020, my intention is simply to be more disciplined. Doing what needs to be done, even when I don’t want to do it. I’ve seen only a fraction of what I can accomplish. I’m ready to see what I can make shake when discipline isn’t lacking.

Discipline….my one word 2020 resolution. Let’s go!

Need help with your word, I found this post to be a great start. Already have one? Share it with me in the comments.

hummm, this is something to think about. Often we thing of what we’re going to give up or start doing. Not focusing our resolution around one word. I will have to think of my one word. Yours is a great one.

I’d never thought about a one word New Years resolution before; I absolutely love the idea, though. I guess I’ve sort of done it without really realizing it, considering my primary focus for this year is leveling up my blog. Discipline is one of the most important traits to be a successful blogger in my opinion, and it’s absolutely true that ambition and goals are nothing without it.

I always say that if you want something bad enough you’ll put in the work to get it. With that being said, I look forward to seeing the progress you’ve made with your blog in the upcoming months! ✨
